Details
There is a lot of talk about machine learning but how do you use it in practice? During this meetup, which we organize in collaboration with Prodrive Technologies you will be taken into the world of product manufacturing where data plays an essential role.
Jorg van Heesch will talk about the implementation of data analytics within the manufacturing domain of Prodrive Technologies. By analyzing and visualizing data, the manufacturing department is guided in its decision-making.
Timo Fruytier will discuss his research project on combining multiple manufacturing data streams to predict the success rate of a product during manufacturing. Predicting the success rate can save component costs, and engineers are guided in their scrap root cause analysis.
Usman Zafar will share how to approach the subject of monitoring in a more structured way. Deploying machine learning models to a live production environment where they can deliver business value is a big achievement and not often an easy task. However, the deployment is not the end of the road, it is the beginning. Once deployed and operating in the real world, a model can become vulnerable to the changing data that will be input into the model. Data is not static, but dynamic and evolving. The value of the training data we use to train a model, will decay over time as the world around us changes. As deploying models becomes easier and more widespread, monitoring will become increasingly more important so that they continue to drive value for businesses.

About Jorg
Jorg van Heesch has a background in manufacturing systems engineering and has been working for two years as a data engineer at Prodrive Technologies. He oversees the implementation of data analytics applications within the manufacturing domain and works closely together with all stakeholders.
About Timo
Timo Fruytier has a background in mechanical engineering and has been working in the industrial automation team of Prodrive Technologies since 2018. Timo was initially responsible for the design and integration of automated solutions but noticed big opportunities in using the production data of these solutions for analytical purposes. During his graduation project of the master’s Manufacturing Systems Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology, he put this into practice.
About Usman
Usman Zafar is a Machine Learning Engineer at GoDataDriven. He has an educational background in physics and computational neuroscience. He has professional working experience as a data scientist but always found the engineering perspective interesting and eventually moved into a role as a Machine Learning Engineer where he enjoys productionising machine learning use-cases. He has experience across a range of clients, technologies and clouds and enjoys building the machinery necessary to support using models to drive value.
