As the Hadoop ecosystem matured, prices for memory fell drastically, making machines with 512GB or even 1TB of RAM affordable. It quickly became clear that the Hadoop MapReduce paradigm had to be updated to take advantage of that. That is why Spark was created and has seen since its initial release a tremendous adaptation worldwide.
Spark is now mostly developed by Databricks, a company founded in 2013 by the original creators of Spark. As GoDataDriven is widely recognized to be the Spark authority in its area, it was no surprise that in March 2016 a partnership of GoDataDriven and Databricks was announced, giving GoDataDriven exclusivity for the full Databricks curriculum in the Benelux.
