During this talk, Mariam Halfhide will discuss the general theory of data strategy and its components, aiming to provide answers to the following:
- Why is data strategy important?
- What components does a data strategy consist of?
- When do data management and data governance come into play?
- What are the success factors for a data strategy?

In this talk, Kevin Duisters will discuss how we at Interfood strategized our journey to becoming a valuable data-driven organization, where to spot the big five pitfalls, and what to do about them.
This time we are welcome at the inspiring location of AI Innovation Center on the High Tech campus in Eindhoven.
Speakers
Mariam Halfhide
Mariam’s expertise lies in data-driven maturity and the optimal use of data as a business asset. Since 2016 Mariam has been active as a consultant in the field of Data & AI. Within her projects, Mariam has fulfilled many analytical roles, in which she has gained extensive experience with data analytics and data science. In addition, Mariam has fulfilled various data lead and advice roles at different organizations, where she was responsible for team collaboration and the connection of data, IT and the business. She currently works as an AI Strategist at GoDataDriven, where she is able to translate the needs of an organization into practical solutions that add value and contribute to becoming a data-driven organization.
Kevin Duisters
Kevin Duisters currently serves as Global Data & Sustainability Director at Interfood Group. He was a visiting scholar at the Stanford Department of Statistics and is about to finalize his PhD in Data Science from Leiden University. Prior to joining Interfood, Kevin was a consultant with the United Nations (New York, Geneva) on Sustainable Development Finance and contributed to the new UN System data strategy. He is passionate about developing international teams, business and technology that enable meaningful change.
